KISS OF LIFE is drawing global attention with its latest single “Who Is She,” even as renewed criticism over its choreography continues to follow the group’s promotional cycle.

Released on April 6, the group’s second single quickly entered international charts, debuting at No. 6 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. The track also ranked highly on iTunes Top Songs charts across multiple regions, including Thailand, Hong Kong, Finland, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Macau, while maintaining steady positions on major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer.

Domestically, the song has shown gradual upward movement, reaching No. 3 on Bugs’ real-time chart and securing positions on Melon’s HOT 100 rankings. The track, which reinterprets early-2000s dance-pop with a modern edge, has been described by listeners as a sound uniquely suited to the group’s identity.

Performance debate resurfaces despite chart gains

Despite the strong commercial performance, attention has once again shifted to the group’s choreography. A dance challenge based on “Who Is She,” particularly a move emphasizing a choking gesture, has drawn criticism online, with some viewers labeling it as both provocative and overly aggressive.

The issue adds to a pattern that has followed KISS OF LIFE since its debut. While widely recognized for stable live vocals and confident stage presence, the group has repeatedly faced scrutiny over performance choices.

Previous releases such as “Sticky” and “Lips Hips Kiss” sparked similar reactions. The former featured twerking elements, while the latter included gestures interpreted as mimicking the pulling of a bra strap. Each instance triggered debate over whether the choreography crossed into unnecessarily suggestive territory.

With “Who Is She,” the criticism appears to have expanded beyond suggestiveness to include concerns about tone, particularly as short-form content amplifies isolated choreography moments without full performance context.

Divided reactions raise questions over direction

Fan response remains mixed. Some supporters argue that KISS OF LIFE is pushing creative boundaries in a competitive industry, emphasizing the group’s confidence and performance versatility. Others, however, express concern that repeated controversies risk overshadowing the group’s musical achievements and vocal strengths.

The discussion has extended into broader industry conversations about how K-pop choreography is evolving in the era of viral challenges, where certain moves can quickly define a song’s public image.

KISS OF LIFE addressed the backlash briefly, stating, “It’s a bit upsetting, but we respect the feedback,” signaling acknowledgment without indicating a shift in creative direction.

As the group continues promotions through music shows, performances, and digital content, its trajectory highlights a dual narrative—one of growing global success and another of ongoing debate over artistic boundaries. How KISS OF LIFE balances these elements may prove critical in shaping its long-term positioning within the K-pop landscape.
