Rookie group CORTIS has crossed a major global milestone, surpassing 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify less than a year after debut.
According to the group’s agency on April 22, CORTIS exceeded the 500 million mark at approximately 11:20 p.m. KST on April 21. The figure aggregates streams from all eight tracks released so far, including their debut mini album “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” the pre-release single “REDRED,” and “Mention Me,” an OST featured in the animated film “GOAT.”
The achievement comes just 246 days after the group’s debut, underscoring their rapid rise in the global streaming market.
Debut album drives explosive streaming growth
A significant portion of the total streams comes from CORTIS’ debut mini album “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” which alone has accumulated approximately 483.6 million streams as of April 22.
The album demonstrated strong early traction, surpassing 100 million streams within its first month and maintaining steady growth thereafter. Among the tracks, “GO!” and “FaSHioN” have emerged as standout hits, drawing hundreds of millions of plays combined, while “What You Want” and “JoyRide” have also contributed consistently to the group’s overall performance.
Industry analysts point to the album’s balanced tracklist and global-friendly sound as key factors behind its sustained streaming momentum.
Global listener base expands across key markets
CORTIS’ listener distribution highlights a broad international footprint. Over the past 28 days, Indonesia and the United States recorded the highest number of listeners, followed by steady engagement in markets such as South Korea, Brazil, Thailand, India, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
This geographic spread indicates that the group has moved beyond a domestic fanbase, establishing a presence across multiple high-consumption streaming regions. The data also reflects growing demand in Southeast Asia and North America, both critical markets for K-pop expansion.
The group’s rising visibility has been further supported by digital performance metrics. The music video for “REDRED,” released ahead of their upcoming comeback, quickly reached No. 1 on YouTube’s worldwide trending chart and entered trending music rankings in 24 regions, including the United States.

Comeback momentum builds toward ‘GREENGREEN’
CORTIS is set to return with its second mini album “GREENGREEN,” scheduled for release on May 4. Early indicators suggest strong commercial performance, with pre-orders surpassing 2.05 million copies as of April 20, according to distributors YG PLUS and Universal Music Group.
The pre-release track “REDRED” has already shown promising results, recording approximately 1.31 million streams on Spotify on its first day and entering Daily Top Songs charts in seven regions, including South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Thailand.
With both digital and physical metrics trending upward, the group is now positioned to potentially achieve “double million-seller” status with the upcoming album.
CORTIS’ rapid ascent reflects a broader shift in how rookie K-pop acts gain global traction, leveraging streaming platforms and digital virality to accelerate growth. As the group prepares for its next release, industry attention is focused on whether it can sustain this momentum and further expand its international reach.
