Several Korean celebrities, including BTS member Jin, participated in South Korea’s 9th Nationwide Local Elections and National Assembly by-elections on June 3, using their platforms to encourage fans and citizens to vote.

Fresh off BTS’ ARIRANG world tour stop in Las Vegas, Jin returned to South Korea and visited a polling station in Hannam-dong, Yongsan District, where he cast his ballot with a bright smile. His participation quickly drew attention from fans, many of whom praised the singer for promoting civic responsibility.

Television personality Jang Young-ran also shared a voting photo on social media, urging followers not to skip the election despite busy schedules. Actress So Yoo-jin posted a photo from her polling station and revealed that she completed voting while balancing family responsibilities with her three children.

Actor Yoon Jong-hoon, currently appearing in KBS drama Happy Our Good Day, joined the campaign as well, posting a photo outside a polling station and encouraging citizens to exercise their right to vote.

Several stars used the occasion as an opportunity to teach younger generations about civic participation. Musical actors Kim So-hyun and Son Jun-ho shared a family photo with their son Joo-an at a polling station, describing the outing as a lesson on the value of voting. Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu similarly attended with his son and expressed hope that elected officials would work toward a better future for children.

Actors Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun also documented their visit to a polling station after completing an early morning workout.

Meanwhile, rookie girl group ODD YOUTH attracted attention after all Korean members participated in the election together. Member Kani, born in 2007, cast her vote for the first time and described the experience as a proud milestone as an adult citizen. Fellow member Summer shared similar sentiments, saying she was honored to participate as a citizen of South Korea.

Other young idols who recently gained voting eligibility also celebrated their first election experience. Members Martin and Joohoon of rookie group Cortis previously shared photos from early voting, expressing excitement about officially joining the electorate.
