Former AOA member Kwon Mina alleges that her older sister was involved in financial losses totaling an estimated 700 million to 800 million won, which she and people close to her suffered, and she signals that she may pursue legal action.
Kwon made the allegations in a lengthy social media post on September 4, describing a family financial dispute that she said involves not only her own money, but also funds belonging to her mother and one of her mother’s acquaintances.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and no court ruling or investigative finding establishing wrongdoing by Kwon’s sister has been reported.
Kwon Mina Says Losses Could Reach ₩800 Million
In her post, Kwon said she had known for some time that her older sister had taken money, but initially hoped the matter could be resolved within the family.
According to Kwon, she later learned from her mother about additional financial issues involving her mother’s assets, another bank account belonging to Kwon and money she had previously given to her mother.
She estimated the combined amount involving the three people at between 700 million and 800 million won.
Kwon referred to a document involving 150 million won, saying it could potentially be recognized as an IOU or loan agreement. She further alleged that others compelled her to sign documents connected to purchasing a vehicle worth more than 100 million won.
Kwon did not present a final legal determination regarding the disputed transactions, and her account currently represents her side of the family dispute.
Dispute Goes Back Several Years
This is not the first time Kwon has publicly raised financial allegations involving her sister.
In October 2021, she claimed on social media that her sister had taken control of money while saying she would handle tax-related matters.
Kwon also alleged at the time that some of the money had not been returned and that an expensive vehicle had been contracted under Kwon’s name.
The latest post suggests the dispute has remained unresolved years later.
Kwon said that despite knowing about some of the financial issues, she had hoped her sister would acknowledge what happened or apologize even if she could not repay the money.
She also described tensions involving their mother, claiming that her sister had made false statements about her to other people.

Legal Action Could Follow
Kwon said she had asked her sister during their last phone conversation to apologize to their mother.
According to Kwon’s account, her sister responded that she no longer wanted contact, after which communication between them stopped.
Kwon said what she ultimately wanted was an apology or acknowledgment regarding her mother.
She indicated that if that does not happen, she intends to pursue legal procedures over the allegations she has raised.
In her post, Kwon referred to possible allegations involving fraud, document forgery, embezzlement and threats.
Kwon raised those allegations, and those terms reflect them; they do not constitute criminal charges or findings of guilt. Authorities remain unclear about which specific claims, if any, they will ultimately submit formally to law enforcement.
Former AOA Member Speaks Out Again
Kwon debuted as a member of AOA in 2012 and left the group in 2019. She subsequently pursued acting and other individual activities.
Her latest disclosure has drawn renewed attention because of both the size of the alleged financial losses and her indication that the long-running family dispute could now move into the legal system.
Kwon estimated the combined financial losses at 700 million to 800 million won. The amount involves herself, her mother, and her mother’s acquaintance. A court has not established this sum. The dispute will become a formal criminal or civil case only if Kwon pursues legal steps.
For now, the claims remain Kwon Mina’s account of an unresolved family financial dispute.
