Los Angeles Rolls Out the Welcome for BTS

Los Angeles has officially declared September 1 through 8 “BTS Week” as BTS returns to the city for four sold-out concerts at SoFi Stadium.

The proclamation celebrates the K-pop supergroup’s BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN LOS ANGELES, with concerts scheduled for September 1, 2, 5 and 6.

The shows mark BTS’ return to SoFi Stadium after nearly five years and represent one of the biggest stops on the group’s ongoing ARIRANG world tour.

An official proclamation ceremony was held at Los Angeles City Hall on August 31, bringing together representatives from the Los Angeles City Council, the city’s tourism organization and BigHit Music.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the designation recognizes BTS’ contribution to global culture while highlighting the role of arts and culture in connecting communities.

The Los Angeles City Council also recognized BTS as one of the most influential artists of their generation and highlighted the group’s role in opening doors for Korean and Asian artists in the global music industry.

BTS Week Los Angeles Celebrations Include City Hall Tribute

The celebration will extend beyond the official proclamation.

Los Angeles City Hall is set to light up in red on September 1, matching the key color associated with BTS’ fifth studio album, ARIRANG.

The illumination is intended as an official welcome to BTS and the thousands of fans arriving in Los Angeles for the concerts.

The gesture adds another highly visible landmark to BTS’ long history with Los Angeles, a city that has played an important role in the group’s rise in the United States.

BTS last performed at SoFi Stadium in late 2021 during the group’s Permission to Dance On Stage concerts.

This time, the group returns behind ARIRANG and a massive world tour that has taken BTS across major stadiums in North America and Europe.

Four Nights at SoFi Stadium

The first Los Angeles concert takes place on September 1. BTS will return to SoFi Stadium the following night.

The group will then perform two more shows on September 5 and 6.

The official Los Angeles tourism website also lists the opening show at SoFi Stadium on September 1.

All four concerts are sold out, according to BigHit Music.

BTS has built a much bigger presence in the U.S. over the years. The Los Angeles shows demonstrate just how far that growth has come.

The group first reached American audiences through TV appearances, award shows and arena concerts. BTS has since moved on to multi-night stadium shows.

Now, Los Angeles has even dedicated an official week to the group.

For ARMY arriving in Los Angeles, “BTS Week” makes the occasion bigger than four concerts at SoFi Stadium.

The proclamation also recognizes BTS’ global cultural influence. It highlights the strong ties between Los Angeles, Korea and the Korean American community.

For BTS, it is another milestone in the group’s long history with Los Angeles.
