TWS is set to take the stage at one of Japan’s largest music festivals, marking another milestone in the group’s rapid global rise.

According to Pledis Entertainment, TWS has been confirmed for the lineup of Summer Sonic 2026, scheduled to take place from August 14 to 16. The group will perform in Osaka on the opening day and in Tokyo on the final day, meeting fans across two major cities.

Major festival appearance highlights global growth

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Summer Sonic is widely regarded as one of Japan’s premier music festivals, having previously hosted global artists such as Coldplay, Beyoncé, and Stevie Wonder. The 2026 lineup also includes acts like The Strokes, L’Arc-en-Ciel, and Jamiroquai, placing TWS alongside internationally recognized performers.

For TWS, the invitation signals increasing recognition in the Japanese market, where the group has already shown strong commercial performance. Their first Japanese single Nice to see you again achieved platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, surpassing 250,000 units in shipments.

The group also ranked second among overseas artists in the rookie category of the Oricon Annual Rankings 2025 and secured two awards at the Japan Gold Disc Awards, including “New Artist of the Year (Asia).”

Comeback momentum builds with new album

The festival announcement comes as TWS prepares to release its fifth mini album NO TRAGEDY on April 27. The upcoming project continues the group’s narrative-driven concept, focusing on a forward-moving approach to love and youth.

According to the agency, the album conveys a message of pursuing love without being constrained by fate, emphasizing optimism and emotional clarity. The concept is expected to showcase a more assertive and confident side of the members.

Ahead of the release, TWS has also been actively promoting in Japan. The group is scheduled to appear on the local music program “CDTV Live! Live!” on April 20, where they will perform “OVERDRIVE,” a track that has already gained attention through its viral “Antal Challenge.”

Expanding presence across Japan and beyond

TWS continues to build its international presence through a combination of music releases, broadcast appearances, and live performances. Their participation in Summer Sonic further strengthens their positioning in the Japanese market, one of the key regions for K-pop expansion.

With a major festival appearance lined up and a new album release imminent, TWS is entering a period of heightened activity. The group’s upcoming schedule reflects a strategic push to solidify its global footprint while maintaining momentum in both domestic and overseas markets.

As anticipation builds, their Summer Sonic debut is expected to serve as a defining moment in their 2026 activities, connecting their growing discography with a broader international audience.
