Stray Kids has been nominated at a major U.S. music awards ceremony for the second consecutive year, reinforcing its position in the global market.
According to the official nominee list released on April 14 (local time), Stray Kids has been named in the “Best Male K-Pop Artist” category at the American Music Awards, set to take place on May 25.
Second consecutive nomination highlights global impact
The nomination marks the group’s second straight appearance on the AMA shortlist. In 2025, the AMAs nominated Stray Kids in categories including Favorite K-Pop Artist and Favorite Soundtrack, after the group performed at the 2024 ceremony—making it one of the few K-pop groups to take the stage at the event.
Music fans widely regard the American Music Awards as one of the three major U.S. music awards alongside the Grammys and the Billboard Music Awards, and organizers select nominees based on metrics such as streaming, sales, radio play, and touring.
Billboard dominance continues with record-breaking run
Stray Kids has maintained a strong presence on global charts. Beginning with its 2022 mini album ODDINARY, the group debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. And it has since achieved eight consecutive No. 1 entries on the chart through releases including SKZ IT TAPE and the track “DO IT.”
This streak marks a historic achievement, representing the first time an artist has debuted eight consecutive albums at No. 1 in the chart’s 70-year history.
The group’s sustained performance has contributed to its recognition as a leading global act. It was supported by consistent album sales and a growing international fanbase.

Expanding global presence through festivals and events
Beyond chart success, Stray Kids has continued to expand its global reach through live performances. The group recently concluded its sixth official fan meeting, STAY in Our Little House, held at Inspire Arena in Incheon.
Stray Kids will headline major festivals, including the Governors Ball Music Festival on June 6.
The group’s continued nominations and expanding performance schedule underscore its growing influence in the global music landscape.
