ENHYPEN has reached a major career milestone, scoring its first-ever ENHYPEN Billboard 200 No. 1 as THE SIN : BLISS debuts atop the United States’ main albums chart.
Billboard announced that the K-pop group’s eighth EP will enter the Billboard 200 at No. 1 on the chart dated Sept. 5. The achievement marks ENHYPEN’s first time at the summit since its debut in November 2020.
The result caps a steady climb up the U.S. chart for a group that had previously come within one position of the top spot twice.
ENHYPEN Billboard 200 No. 1 Comes With 98,000 Units
THE SIN : BLISS earned 98,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the tracking week ending Aug. 27, according to Luminate data reported by Billboard.
Traditional album sales accounted for 92,000 units, while streaming-equivalent albums contributed another 6,000 units, representing approximately 6.91 million official on-demand streams of the album’s tracks.
The performance also sent THE SIN : BLISS to No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart.
For ENHYPEN, the No. 1 represents the culmination of several years of increasingly strong performances on the Billboard 200.
The group previously reached No. 4 with DARK BLOOD and ORANGE BLOOD, followed by No. 3 with DESIRE : UNLEASH. Both ROMANCE : UNTOLD and THE SIN : VANISH peaked at No. 2.
THE SIN : BLISS finally takes ENHYPEN one step higher.
ENHYPEN Joins Elite K-Pop Company
The achievement also places ENHYPEN among a relatively small group of K-pop acts that have topped the Billboard 200.
BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, BLACKPINK, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, NewJeans, ATEEZ and TWICE had previously reached No. 1, making ENHYPEN the ninth K-pop group to achieve the feat.
The milestone is particularly notable because THE SIN : BLISS is the group’s first release following its transition to a six-member lineup after Heeseung’s departure. The current lineup consists of Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-Ki.
The album has also delivered significant sales outside the United States.
According to BELIFT LAB, THE SIN : BLISS surpassed 2.09 million first-week sales on Hanteo Chart, while title track “Bloody Paradise” entered Spotify’s global chart at No. 59.
‘THE SIN : BLISS’ Continues ENHYPEN’s Album Series
Released Aug. 21, THE SIN : BLISS is the second installment in ENHYPEN’s THE SIN series.
The 10-track project continues a narrative centered on two lovers dealing with the consequences of breaking a taboo and fleeing together. It includes lead single “Bloody Paradise” as well as B-side “Two Fools.”
“Bloody Paradise” incorporates Brazilian funk influences, and the album also includes an English version featuring Brazilian singer Luísa Sonza.
The group’s latest chart achievement comes after ENHYPEN expanded its global touring presence, including stops in São Paulo, Lima and Mexico City as part of its BLOOD SAGA world tour.
A New Career High for ENHYPEN
The ENHYPEN Billboard 200 No. 1 is more than another Top 10 entry.
After twice reaching No. 2, ENHYPEN has now crossed a significant threshold in the world’s largest music market, six years after its debut.
The achievement also gives the group seven Billboard 200 Top 10 albums since 2022.
With THE SIN : BLISS, ENHYPEN has finally turned years of upward momentum on the Billboard 200 into its first No. 1.
