BTS Jungkook’s Instagram Account Temporarily Suspended Over IP Policy Issue, Quickly Restored

BTS member Jungkook briefly alarmed fans after his official Instagram account was temporarily suspended due to an alleged intellectual property policy violation before being restored less than a day later.

According to the music industry on May 28, Jungkook uploaded a mysterious image featuring only a “?” symbol through his official TikTok account on May 27. The screenshot showed a notice from Instagram informing him that his account had been disabled.

The notice reportedly stated, “JK, your account has been disabled,” alongside additional warnings explaining that the account could become permanently deactivated if no appeal request was submitted within 180 days.

Instagram cited an alleged violation related to intellectual property and trademark policy compliance. The platform explained that activity connected to the account did not fully comply with its intellectual property guidelines, resulting in the temporary suspension.

The unexpected restriction immediately sparked concern among global fans, especially given Jungkook’s massive social media influence and worldwide popularity.

Fortunately, the issue appeared to be resolved quickly. By May 28, Jungkook’s Instagram account had returned to normal, with his profile and previous posts once again accessible to fans.

The incident drew even more attention because Jungkook had previously deleted his original Instagram account in February 2023 despite having over 52 million followers at the time. He later launched a new account in July 2025, which has already surpassed 21 million followers.

Meanwhile, BTS recently achieved another major milestone at the 2026 American Music Awards (AMA), winning three trophies including the grand prize for Artist of the Year.

Their fifth full-length album “ARIRANG” and title track “SWIM” have also dominated global charts, while tickets for the group’s upcoming North American and European tour dates sold out rapidly, once again proving BTS’ overwhelming global influence.
