BoA Announces First Solo Concert Since Leaving SM Entertainment

K-pop icon BoA is preparing for a new chapter in her career with her first solo concert since departing SM Entertainment last year.

On May 20, BoA revealed through social media that she will hold a fan concert titled BoA the MIC on June 27 and 28 at Yonsei University Auditorium in Seoul.

Ahead of the concert, the singer will also release a new digital single titled “Ain’t No Hard Feelings” on May 30 at midnight KST.

The upcoming release and concert mark BoA’s first official projects since establishing her independence following her departure from SM Entertainment, where she spent 25 years as one of the company’s defining artists.

After leaving SM in December 2025, BoA launched her own agency, BayPal Entertainment, earlier this year. At the time, the company explained that the artist chose a new structure in order to pursue her musical direction with greater clarity and creative freedom.

Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the Korean Wave, BoA debuted in 2000 and became one of the first K-pop artists to achieve major success in Japan, helping open the global market for future generations of Korean acts.

Over the years, she built a legendary career with hit songs including “No.1,” “Atlantis Princess,” “Only One,” and “Girls On Top,” while also earning recognition as a songwriter, producer, and performance artist.

Fans are particularly anticipating how BoA’s independent era will shape her musical identity moving forward, especially as she takes greater control over her creative direction and live performances.

With both a new single and an intimate concert experience on the horizon, BoA the MIC is expected to showcase not only her enduring artistry, but also the beginning of a more personal and self-directed phase in her career.
