Mimiirose is set to disband, with members confirming the decision through personal statements, bringing an end to the group’s activities less than three years after debut.

On April 16, member Yeawon shared the news via social media, stating that the group had decided to part ways following extensive discussions. “After much deliberation, Mimiirose has chosen to walk separate paths,” she wrote, adding that the members will now move forward individually after leaving their agency.

Yeawon expressed regret toward fans while reflecting on the group’s journey, noting that although their time together under the name Mimiirose is ending, the memories they created will remain.

Other members also addressed the situation. Leader Yunjae conveyed both gratitude and apology, confirming the conclusion of group activities. Member Jia likewise announced her departure, reinforcing that the disbandment decision had been reached collectively.

Members confirm end of group activities

The announcements mark the first official confirmation that Mimiirose will no longer continue as a group. While no formal statement has been issued by the agency, the synchronized messages from multiple members indicate a coordinated decision.

The group had previously undergone changes in management, moving to Pocket7 Entertainment in 2024 in an effort to reset its direction. Despite those efforts, the latest developments suggest that the group was unable to sustain long-term activities.

The tone of the members’ messages emphasized closure rather than conflict, with each highlighting appreciation for fans who supported the group during its run.

High-profile debut and shifting trajectory

Mimiirose initially drew attention due to its association with veteran singer Im Chang-jung, who produced the group. At the time of debut in 2022, reports that approximately 20 billion KRW had been invested into the project heightened public interest.

Im Chang-jung later revealed that he had sold the copyrights to around 170 songs, including his signature track “A Glass of Soju,” to help finance the group’s launch. The scale of the investment positioned Mimiirose as a high-profile debut within the industry.

However, despite early attention, the group faced challenges in establishing a stable foothold in a competitive market. The agency transition in 2024 signaled an attempt to reorganize and continue activities under a new structure, but momentum proved difficult to maintain.

Members move toward individual paths

With the decision now confirmed, the members are expected to pursue individual careers moving forward. While specific plans have not yet been detailed, the transition reflects a broader trend in the industry, where shorter group lifecycles and flexible career paths are becoming more common.

For fans, the disbandment marks the end of a brief but notable chapter shaped by high expectations and significant investment. The members’ messages suggest a focus on gratitude and new beginnings, closing their group activities on a reflective note.

As Mimiirose concludes its journey, attention now turns to the future paths of its members and how they will redefine their careers beyond the group format.
