Global girl group KATSEYE has emerged as one of the standout acts at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, delivering back-to-back performances that have rapidly translated into both viral traction and chart success.

The group took the Sahara Stage in Indio, California, on April 17 (local time), marking their second appearance following their first-week set on April 10. Performing for approximately 45 minutes, KATSEYE showcased a setlist of 11 songs, drawing a packed crowd estimated at around 60,000 attendees. The venue remained filled throughout the performance, underscoring the group’s rising global demand.

High-impact stage fuels viral momentum

Opening with their latest track “PINKY UP,” KATSEYE maintained high energy throughout the set with consecutive performances of “Internet Girl,” “Gabriela,” and “Gnarly.” Their ability to seamlessly move across genres—including Latin pop, hyperpop, and pop ballad—highlighted both musical versatility and performance precision.

Audience engagement remained strong from start to finish, with large-scale singalongs and sustained crowd reactions. Industry observers noted that the group’s stage presence and vocal stability contributed significantly to their reception, reinforcing their positioning as a next-generation global act.

The performance’s impact extended immediately to digital platforms. Coachella’s official social media accounts uploaded KATSEYE’s “PINKY UP” stage video, describing it as an “incredible performance.” As of April 18, the video surpassed 6.3 million views, exceeding the view count of several headline performances on the same stage.

This surge also translated into measurable audience growth. The group gained more than 580,000 new followers across major platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and X within a short timeframe, bringing their combined following to over 47 million.

Chart performance and global response

KATSEYE’s momentum has been reflected in key international charts. “PINKY UP” entered the UK Official Singles Top 100 at No. 14 for the week of April 17–23, signaling strong traction in one of the world’s most competitive music markets.

In the United States, the track reached No. 14 on the Weekly Top Songs chart, while on Spotify’s Global Weekly Top Songs chart (April 10–16), it secured the No. 18 position. The consistent performance across multiple regions suggests balanced global consumption rather than region-specific spikes.

Major international media outlets have also highlighted the group’s Coachella appearance. U.S. publication Billboard described the performance as “bonkers,” while People praised the group’s “girl group greatness,” reflecting a broader industry acknowledgment of their stage impact.

A collaborative stage featuring virtual group HUNTR/X further amplified attention, with critics pointing to the performance as one of Coachella’s defining crossover moments this year.

Expanding festival presence worldwide

Following their Coachella success, KATSEYE is set to continue its global festival circuit. The group will appear at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York on June 5, followed by performances at the Hinterland Music Festival on July 30 and Head In The Clouds on August 8.

These upcoming appearances are expected to further solidify the group’s presence in key Western markets, particularly as festival stages increasingly serve as critical platforms for global expansion.

Formed through a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, KATSEYE represents a strategic push into the global pop landscape. Their rapid rise—accelerated by high-profile performances and strong digital metrics—signals a broader shift in how K-pop acts are positioned internationally.

With both audience engagement and industry recognition aligning, KATSEYE’s Coachella run may mark a pivotal moment in their trajectory as a global pop act.
