BLACKPINK member Lisa is set to make history as Lisa FIFA World Cup 2026 performance news confirms her participation in one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

According to a report published on May 8 by The Athletic, Lisa has signed a performance agreement with FIFA and will appear as part of the official opening ceremony lineup for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lisa Follows BTS Jungkook Onto the World Cup Stage

Lisa’s appearance comes four years after BTS member Jungkook performed the official soundtrack “Dreamers” at the 2022 Qatar World Cup opening ceremony.

With Lisa now confirmed for the 2026 edition, K-pop artists are set to headline the World Cup opening stage for two consecutive tournaments—further demonstrating the genre’s growing global influence.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with opening events distributed across three cities.

Lisa is scheduled to perform on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles ahead of the United States vs. Paraguay opening match. She will reportedly share the stage with global artists including Katy Perry, Future, and DJ Sanjoy.

Meanwhile, the Toronto opening event will feature performers such as Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, and Alessia Cara.

Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca ceremony is expected to include performances by Maná, Alejandro Fernández, and Belinda.

FIFA’s Continued Focus on K-Pop Influence

According to reports, the U.S. and Canada opening performances are expected to run approximately 13 minutes each, while the Mexico ceremony will last around 16 and a half minutes.

Unlike Jungkook’s solo-featured World Cup performance in 2022, Lisa’s stage is expected to follow a multi-artist festival format alongside international pop stars.

Industry observers believe FIFA’s decision to feature K-pop artists in consecutive tournaments reflects the genre’s expanding power within Asian and global entertainment markets. Lisa, who hails from Thailand’s Buriram Province, possesses one of the largest international fanbases in K-pop and currently has the highest Instagram following among BLACKPINK members.

Lisa’s Global Solo Career Continues to Expand

Since debuting with BLACKPINK in 2016, Lisa has successfully balanced group and solo activities. Her 2021 solo single “LALISA” recorded approximately 730,000 copies sold during its first week.

After concluding her individual contract with YG Entertainment in 2024, she launched her own label LLOUD and continued building her solo identity globally.

Her first full-length solo album “Alter Ego” later entered Billboard’s main charts, reinforcing her growing presence as an international pop figure beyond K-pop.

As of now, FIFA has not officially revealed whether Lisa will participate in the tournament’s soundtrack or which songs she will perform. The final lineup and stage details are expected to be confirmed closer to the World Cup opening in June.
