TWICE Sana Explains What Really Happened
TWICE’s Sana has addressed a wardrobe mishap at a recent fashion event sparked online debate, clarifying that the situation was caused by a styling mishap rather than intentional overexposure.
On June 18, Sana took to the fan communication platform Bubble to explain what happened after photos from a brand event in Seoul drew widespread attention.
“During the fitting, the front part of the outfit was secured so it wouldn’t open,” she wrote. “But when I arrived at the venue, everything was hectic and I didn’t have a chance to check myself in the mirror. I didn’t even realize the outfit had shifted while photos were being taken until I got back to the waiting room.”
She continued, expressing her disappointment over the unexpected controversy.
“I was already upset that I couldn’t wear it the way it was intended during the fitting. Seeing so many comments made me even more upset,” she admitted.
The explanation came after TWICE attended a fashion event in Seoul’s Jongno district, where Sana appeared in a floral-patterned mini dress. Photos from the event quickly circulated online, with some viewers questioning whether the outfit had unintentionally revealed more than intended.
Viral Debate Over Sana’s Wardrobe Mishap Ends
The images sparked mixed reactions across social media. Some users expressed concern that undergarments had been exposed, while others argued that the visible inner layer appeared to be part of the garment’s original design because it matched the dress’s pattern and fabric.
According to Sana, the dress was specifically designed to showcase the inner layer as part of the styling concept. She had intended to create a natural silhouette by slightly adjusting one side of the skirt. However, the outfit shifted from its fitted position, creating an appearance different from what had been planned.
After discovering her wardrobe mishap in the waiting room, Sana reportedly adjusted the outfit before returning for a second photo session. Images and videos taken later in the event showed the dress arranged more securely and in line with the intended styling.
Despite the misunderstanding, many fans praised Sana for addressing the issue directly and honestly, helping put an end to speculation surrounding the incident.
Meanwhile, TWICE recently wrapped up the European leg of their world tour, which began in London. The group is scheduled to hold encore concerts for their “THIS IS FOR” tour at Seoul’s KSPO DOME from July 10 to July 12.
