BIGBANG’s G-Dragon has come under fire after wearing a shirt featuring offensive wording during a recent performance in Macau.
On May 2, G-Dragon took the stage at the “K-SPARK in Macau” event held at the Macau Outdoor Performance Venue, delivering a high-energy performance that drew strong reactions from fans.
However, the focus quickly shifted to controversy over his outfit. The shirt he wore included wording that has been widely interpreted as racially insensitive and inappropriate, sparking criticism from fans around the world.
As the issue gained traction online, many raised concerns about the cultural implications of the language displayed on the clothing, calling for clarification and accountability.
In response, his agency Galaxy Corporation issued an official apology on May 4, stating, “We sincerely apologize for the inclusion of wording on the performance outfit that was inappropriate in its social and cultural context.”
The agency added that the incident served as a reminder of the importance of cultural awareness and careful review, pledging to strengthen internal processes, including styling checks, to prevent similar issues in the future.
“We will approach all artist-related activities with greater responsibility and sensitivity, ensuring respect for the diverse cultural backgrounds and values of global fans,” the statement continued.
The company concluded by once again apologizing for causing disappointment and concern over the matter.
