BTS member V is receiving widespread praise online as BTS V Mexico president gesture moments go viral across social media and local news outlets.
During BTS’s recent visit to Mexico City as part of their ongoing “Arirang” world tour, the group was invited to the presidential palace by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Thousands of fans gathered in the iconic Zócalo despite intense heat, erupting into cheers as the members appeared on the palace balcony.
V Delivers Warm Message in Spanish
V especially drew attention after greeting fans with a carefully prepared message in Spanish. Reading from his phone, he said:
“Hello. I’m not very good at Spanish, but I’ll do my best. I really missed you all. I missed Mexico so much. The atmosphere here is incredible. Thank you so much for loving us this much. See you again next time. Goodbye.”
His sincere effort to communicate directly with local fans quickly won hearts online, with many praising his respect toward Mexican culture and supporters.
Thoughtful Gesture Toward President Goes Viral
However, the moment that generated the strongest reaction came from V’s interaction with President Sheinbaum herself.
As the president remained slightly behind the members on the balcony, V immediately gestured for her to step forward and stand alongside the group, politely giving her the center position. The president responded with a bright smile and warmly patted V on the back.
Shortly afterward, when President Sheinbaum prepared to deliver remarks, V noticed that the microphone stand was positioned too high. He quietly adjusted the microphone downward to match her height and personally held it in place throughout the speech.

The subtle yet considerate actions quickly spread across social media, with fans and local observers describing the moment as a perfect example of “K-manners”—a phrase often used internationally to describe Korean-style politeness and attentiveness.
Following the event, phrases such as “MEXICO LOVES TAEHYUNG” and “MUCHO PICANTE” surged on Mexico’s real-time trending charts, reflecting the massive local response.
Mexico is currently one of the world’s largest K-pop consumption markets, ranking fifth globally on Spotify metrics. BTS also holds the record as one of the country’s most-streamed international artists, underscoring their immense popularity in the region.
After completing their presidential palace schedule in Mexico City, BTS is set to continue their world tour performances on May 7, 9, and 10 at Estadio GNP Seguros.
As clips of V’s thoughtful gestures continue spreading worldwide, fans are once again highlighting not only BTS’s musical influence, but also the group’s ability to leave a lasting cultural impression through small moments of genuine respect and kindness.
