BTS delivered a landmark moment in Tokyo as tens of thousands of fans joined together in a powerful singalong of “Arirang,” highlighting the group’s cultural impact during their latest world tour stop in Japan.
According to BigHit Music, BTS successfully concluded their “WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN TOKYO” concerts on April 17–18 at Tokyo Dome. The two-night event drew a combined audience of approximately 110,000, with both shows selling out in advance.
This marked BTS’s return to Tokyo Dome for the first time since their 2019 “LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF” tour, underscoring their continued drawing power in one of Japan’s most iconic venues.
‘Arirang’ moment becomes emotional highlight
The concerts featured a mix of the group’s global hits and new material, but the defining moment came during a performance of “Body to Body,” a track from their latest album ARIRANG.
As the melody of the traditional Korean folk song “Arirang” played within the arrangement, the entire audience joined in, creating a rare scene where a Korean cultural symbol echoed throughout a Japanese stadium.
BigHit Music described the moment as one of the most memorable highlights of the tour, noting that the members appeared visibly moved as they listened to the crowd sing in unison.
The singalong had been anticipated as a key feature of the tour. Bang Si-hyuk had previously suggested that “Arirang” chants at international venues could become an iconic element of the tour’s identity.

Stadium-scale performance energizes fans
Throughout the concert, fans—known as ARMY—filled the venue with synchronized chants and light sticks. Performances of tracks such as “Not Today” and “MIC Drop” generated intense reactions, while global hits like “Butter” and “Dynamite” saw audiences singing along to entire verses.
The setlist also included a special “random song” segment, where BTS performed Japanese tracks including “Crystal Snow” and “FOR YOU,” both of which received enthusiastic responses from local fans.
The group communicated largely in Japanese during the event, expressing gratitude for the audience’s continued support. In heartfelt remarks, the members reflected on their return to Tokyo and the connection they share with fans in the region.
Global tour momentum continues
Following the Tokyo concerts, BTS is set to continue their tour in the United States, with upcoming performances scheduled at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. The broader tour includes 85 shows across 34 cities spanning North America, Europe, South America, and Asia.
The scale of the tour reflects BTS’s sustained global reach, with stadium-level attendance and cross-cultural engagement continuing to define their live performances.
The Tokyo Dome concerts, particularly the “Arirang” singalong, offered a clear example of how BTS integrates Korean cultural elements into global stages, reinforcing their position not only as performers but also as cultural ambassadors.
As the tour progresses, similar moments are expected to resonate with audiences worldwide, further amplifying the group’s influence across international markets.
