BLACKPINK member and actress Jisoo departed for Paris on April 22, maintaining her overseas schedule despite ongoing controversy surrounding her brother’s private life.

Jisoo was seen at Incheon International Airport wearing a hat and mask, partially concealing her face as she made her way to the departure terminal. After exiting her vehicle, she quickly crossed into the terminal area but briefly acknowledged fans and media, waving and smiling as she entered.

Her departure had initially been scheduled for media coverage but was abruptly canceled the day before. Despite the change, her travel plans proceeded as planned.

Agency distances artist from family-related issue

The schedule adjustment came shortly after Jisoo addressed controversy involving her older brother, identified as Kim, whose personal matters recently surfaced online.

Her agency, BLISSOO, issued a statement through legal representative, emphasizing that the matter is unrelated to the artist or her company.

“The issue currently being raised has no connection to the artist or BLISSOO,” the statement said. It further noted that Jisoo has lived independently for many years, beginning in her trainee period, and has had no involvement in or awareness of the individual’s private affairs.

The agency also rejected speculation that her brother was involved in company management. According to the statement, while family members may have provided limited advice during the company’s early formation, they have not participated in decision-making or received compensation.

Corporate records confirm that Jisoo is listed as the sole internal director and CEO of BLISSOO.

Credit discrepancy raises additional questions

However, questions emerged after viewers pointed out that Kim’s name appeared in the end credits of the Monthly Boyfriend, a Netflix series released in March starring Jisoo. The credit listed him as a representative of her management, leading to speculation about inconsistencies in the agency’s explanation.

In response, a representative from Netflix clarified that the listing was an error. “Shortly after the release in early March, it was confirmed that there was a mistake in the management credit by the production team, and it was corrected immediately,” the official said.

Public schedule continues despite scrutiny

Despite the ongoing scrutiny, Jisoo has continued with her professional commitments, including the overseas schedule in Paris. Her composed appearance at the airport and brief interaction with fans suggested an effort to maintain normalcy amid heightened attention.

Industry observers note that it is not uncommon for artists to proceed with pre-arranged schedules during external controversies, particularly when agencies move quickly to clarify the scope of involvement.

As the situation develops, attention remains on how the issue may impact Jisoo’s public activities. For now, both the artist and her agency have maintained a firm stance that the controversy is separate from her professional career.
