Sooyoung and Jung Kyung-ho Break Up After 14 Years Together

Girls’ Generation member and actress Sooyoung and actor Jung Kyung-ho have officially ended their long-running relationship, bringing one of Korea’s most enduring celebrity romances to a close.

On June 9, Sooyoung’s agency confirmed the news, stating that the two have decided to part ways and remain supportive colleagues.

“It’s true that they have broken up,” a representative said. “They have chosen to remain good colleagues.”

Jung Kyung-ho’s agency also acknowledged the breakup but declined to provide further details, citing privacy concerns.

Breakup Rumors Spread Online

Speculation first gained traction across online communities and social media platforms after fans noticed that the two were no longer following each other on social media.

Because the couple had openly expressed affection and support for one another throughout their relationship, the rumors quickly attracted widespread attention.

According to reports citing industry insiders, the couple’s increasingly demanding schedules played a role in their decision.

Jung Kyung-ho has remained busy with back-to-back acting projects, while Sooyoung has continued her activities in both South Korea and Japan. The distance and lack of time together reportedly led the pair to gradually drift apart before ultimately ending their relationship.

The two stars first confirmed their relationship in January 2014 after dating rumors surfaced.

They reportedly met through church and began dating in September 2012 before eventually going public with their romance.

Over the years, they became known as one of the entertainment industry’s most stable couples. Both frequently mentioned each other in interviews, publicly supported one another’s projects, and were often cited whenever discussions about celebrity marriages arose.

Their relationship lasted for approximately 14 years, making them one of the longest-running public couples in Korean entertainment.

Who Is Jung Kyung-ho?

Jung Kyung-ho made his acting debut in 2003 as part of KBS’s 20th class of talent recruits.

He later built a successful acting career through popular dramas including “I’m Sorry, I Love You,” “Missing Nine,” “Prison Playbook,” “Hospital Playlist,” “Crash Course in Romance,” and “Labor Attorney Noh Moo-jin.”

He is currently filming the upcoming ENA drama “Falling for Romance.”

Sooyoung debuted in 2007 as a member of Girls’ Generation (SNSD), one of the most influential K-pop girl groups of all time.
