BTS to Share Historic FIFA Stage With Madonna and Shakira

BTS will officially headline the halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.

On May 13 local time, FIFA announced that BTS, alongside Madonna and Shakira, will perform during the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium.

The highly anticipated final will take place as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Jungkook Returns to the World Cup Stage After ‘Dreamers’

The halftime show’s artist curation was led by Chris Martin of Coldplay. FIFA revealed the lineup through a playful announcement featuring famous The Muppets characters including Elmo, Miss Piggy, and Kermit.

The production itself will be handled by Global Citizen.

The announcement also marks another major FIFA milestone for Jungkook, who previously performed the official soundtrack Dreamers at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Qatar World Cup alongside Qatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi.

Last year, FIFA and Global Citizen also introduced a revamped halftime entertainment format during the Club World Cup Final, featuring artists such as Doja Cat, J Balvin, and Emmanuel Kelly.

The FIFA World Cup Final is widely regarded as one of the most-watched sporting events in the world. The 2022 Qatar World Cup Final reportedly attracted more than 500 million live viewers globally, surpassing even the highest-rated Super Bowl broadcasts.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to officially kick off on June 11.
