Actress Jang Da-A is gaining attention following her recent appearance at a promotional event for the horror film Salmokji, where her visuals and on-site presence quickly became a talking point among viewers and industry watchers.

On April 12, Jang shared multiple photos on her social media from the film’s stage greeting tour, writing that horror films are best experienced in theaters. The images, taken during the promotional schedule, highlighted both her styling and her natural presence in front of the camera.

Visual styling and on-site presence draw focus

At the event, Jang appeared in a short-sleeve knit top paired with a leopard-print mini skirt and boots, presenting a polished yet youthful look. The outfit emphasized her proportions, while her composed poses—ranging from arms-crossed stances to more relaxed gestures—reflected a model-like confidence rooted in her early career background.

Other images showed a lighter side, including playful poses and candid moments such as checking her reflection in a mirror. The contrast between her poised visuals and casual demeanor contributed to the growing attention around her public appearances.

Jang, who debuted as a model in 2023, has increasingly drawn notice for her visual identity, which blends commercial appeal with a more understated, actress-oriented image. Her transition into film promotions appears to be reinforcing that positioning.

Cast chemistry and family resemblance noted

Additional photos from the same schedule included a behind-the-scenes moment with co-star Kim Jun-han, showing the two seated together on a bus while traveling between promotional stops. The image offered a glimpse into the working atmosphere among the cast, suggesting a relaxed and cooperative dynamic during the film’s rollout.

Separately, public attention has also focused on Jang’s resemblance to her younger sister, Jang Wonyoung of IVE. While the two maintain distinct public careers—one in acting and the other in K-pop—the visual similarities noted in recent photos have contributed to increased visibility for Jang, particularly among global K-pop audiences.

The connection has not been directly emphasized in official promotions, but it continues to surface organically across online discussions, reflecting the broader crossover between the K-pop and film industries.

‘Salmokji’ expands Jang’s acting trajectory

Salmokji, directed by Lee Sang-min and distributed by Showbox, centers on a filming crew that encounters an unidentified presence beneath a reservoir after capturing a mysterious figure through road-view footage. The film positions itself within the atmospheric horror genre, relying on confined settings and psychological tension.

In the film, Jang takes on the role of Sejeong, a junior producer who joins the crew to create high-engagement content for a horror-themed channel. The character serves as an entry point for viewers into the unfolding घटनs, balancing curiosity with escalating fear as the narrative progresses.

Her performance has been noted for maintaining a grounded tone within a genre that often leans heavily on exaggerated reactions. Industry observers see the role as a measured step in her filmography, allowing her to build experience while remaining aligned with commercially viable projects.

Prior to Salmokji, Jang transitioned into acting through the TVING original series Pyramid Game, where she portrayed Baek Harin, a character that required navigating both sympathetic and antagonistic elements. She later appeared in the ENA drama My Precious Star, taking on the role of a younger version of a top celebrity, further expanding her range.

With Salmokji marking her first major film release, Jang Da-A is entering a new phase in her career, balancing public recognition with gradual role diversification. As promotional activities continue, industry attention is likely to remain focused on how she develops her screen presence in upcoming projects.
