IVE member Gaeul has landed the cover of Chinese fashion magazine KNIGHT, delivering a striking visual spread that highlights her evolving artistry and global appeal.
Unveiled on April 22, the pictorial carries the theme “SUPER SWEET AND COOL,” capturing Gaeul’s contrasting charms through a series of concept-driven looks. The feature quickly gained traction among international fans, further cementing her rising presence in both music and fashion.
Dual concepts spotlight Gaeul’s expanding range
In one of the standout cuts, Gaeul exudes refined charisma in a black dress paired with bold accessories, projecting a sophisticated and commanding aura. In contrast, other images present a softer, more natural side, with gentle expressions and minimal styling that emphasize her versatility.
The shoot also plays with opposing aesthetics, from doll-like innocence reminiscent of a Barbie-inspired visual to a chic, edgy mood defined by smoky makeup. The balance between sweetness and intensity underscores her ability to navigate diverse concepts—an increasingly valuable asset in the global K-pop landscape.
Industry observers note that such editorial features often signal broader fashion industry recognition, especially in key markets like China, where K-pop idols continue to influence youth and luxury trends alike.
Artist reflects on solo debut and variety show experience
In the accompanying interview, Gaeul spoke candidly about her first solo track “Odd,” describing it as both a challenge and a turning point in her career. As it marked her solo debut, she said she spent considerable time 고민ing over the concept and how to express her individuality through the song.
“I practiced a lot since I had to stand on stage alone,” she shared, adding that she incorporated many of her own ideas into the performance. “Through the process of completing the song, I felt that I grew a lot.”
Gaeul also addressed her recent appearance on the Netflix variety program Death Game, where she revealed a surprising competitive side. Known for her calm and composed image, she admitted that the high-pressure format brought out unexpected instincts.
“I enjoy survival shows, and when I was put in a one-on-one situation, my survival instincts naturally came out,” she said.
She also said she may have seemed calm on the outside, but she wasn’t. She added that she was surprised to discover a new side of herself through the show.
Reflecting on her journey since debut, Gaeul credited fans—known as DIVE—for helping her better understand her own strengths. “I think I’ve found many of my charms,” she noted, expressing gratitude for the support that has shaped her confidence and identity as an artist.

IVE continues global tour momentum
Meanwhile, IVE recently wrapped up a successful two-day concert at Kyocera Dome Osaka on April 18 and 19 as part of their second world tour “SHOW WHAT I AM.” The performances drew large-scale audiences and reinforced the group’s strong foothold in the Japanese market.
Following the Osaka shows, the group is set to continue its tour across multiple cities, including Manila, Singapore, Macau, as well as stops in Australia and New Zealand. The tour will eventually lead to a major concert at Tokyo Dome on June 24, marking another milestone in IVE’s expanding global trajectory.
As Gaeul’s individual activities gain visibility alongside the group’s international success, her KNIGHT cover signals a growing influence that extends beyond music into fashion and global media.
