BTS has officially launched its highly anticipated ‘ARIRANG’ world tour, marking one of the largest-scale concert series in K-pop history, beginning with a three-day run at Goyang Stadium in South Korea.
According to BigHit Music, the group kicked off the tour on April 9 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium, with additional performances scheduled on April 11 and 12. The tour will expand across 34 cities worldwide, including stops in Japan, the United States, Germany, France, Canada, Peru, Chile, and Thailand, totaling 85 shows.
Large-scale concert with global demand and sold-out momentum
The ‘ARIRANG’ tour is designed on an unprecedented scale, with performances taking place in stadiums and large domes, featuring a 360-degree open-stage configuration. This setup is expected to maximize audience capacity and provide an immersive concert experience from all angles.
Demand for tickets has already demonstrated the group’s global reach. A total of 46 shows, including the opening concerts in Goyang, Tokyo dates in Japan, and multiple North American and European stops, have been completely sold out.
Concert promoter Live Nation reported that BTS sold approximately 2.4 million tickets across 41 shows in North America and Europe alone, underscoring the group’s continued dominance in the global touring market.
The tour follows the release of BTS’s fifth full-length album ‘ARIRANG’, which recently topped the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks. Fans attending the concerts are expected to hear live performances of new tracks from the album alongside the group’s established hits.
Artist message and fan engagement
Ahead of the opening concert, member Jimin shared a message with fans via the platform Weverse, encouraging attendees to dress warmly and expressing his commitment to delivering a well-prepared performance.
His message reflects the group’s continued focus on fan interaction, even as the scale of their concerts expands globally. The fandom, known as ARMY, is expected to play a central role in the atmosphere of the tour, particularly given the high demand and international turnout.
Authorities move to combat counterfeit merchandise
Alongside the tour launch, South Korean authorities have announced a coordinated effort to address the circulation of counterfeit K-pop merchandise around concert venues.
The Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) confirmed that it will carry out a large-scale crackdown targeting both online and offline distribution of fake goods during the concert period. The operation will focus on areas surrounding the Goyang venue, where large numbers of domestic and international fans will likely gather.
Officials stated that enforcement measures will include on-site inspections, monitoring of online marketplaces, and public awareness campaigns aimed at encouraging the purchase of authentic merchandise.
In previous enforcement actions conducted between February and March in Seoul and Busan, authorities seized approximately 27,000 counterfeit K-pop items—including photocards, keyrings, and mugs—and booked five individuals on charges of trademark violations.
HYBE emphasized the importance of protecting artists’ intellectual property and noted that fan support drives the value of these assets. The company added that promoting official merchandise helps build a sustainable ecosystem that protects artists’ rights.
Government officials highlighted that consumers protect creative work when they purchase legitimate products, and they said authorities will expand enforcement campaigns alongside major K-pop events.

As BTS embarks on its expansive ‘ARIRANG’ world tour, the combination of record-breaking ticket demand and strengthened intellectual property enforcement reflects both the group’s global influence and the growing scale of the K-pop industry.
