BTS member Jimin has extended his global chart run once again, as his solo track “Who” continues its steady presence on Billboard’s international rankings.

According to the latest chart update dated April 10 (local time), “Who,” the title track from Jimin’s second solo album MUSE, ranked No. 171 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. The placement marks the song’s 88th week on the chart—one of the longest runs ever recorded by a K-pop solo track.

The milestone further reinforces Jimin’s position as a leading solo act from the genre, particularly given that both “Who” and his earlier hit “Like Crazy” achieved their results without international artist collaborations.

Sustained chart presence highlights solo longevity

With 88 weeks on the chart, “Who” now stands as a benchmark for long-term global performance among K-pop solo releases. Jimin also holds the second-longest run in the same category, with “Like Crazy” charting for 68 weeks.

Industry observers note that the dual achievement underscores a rare level of consistency. Rather than relying on short-term spikes driven by viral trends or promotional cycles, both songs have maintained steady consumption across streaming platforms over extended periods.

Jimin’s broader solo catalog supports this trajectory. His debut album FACE entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2, while “Like Crazy” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking a historic first for a Korean solo artist at the time. MUSE followed with another No. 2 debut on the Billboard 200, confirming continued global demand.

Album performance reinforces global reach

Beyond the single’s performance, MUSE has also demonstrated notable longevity. The album has now spent 88 weeks on Billboard’s World Albums chart, setting a new record for a K-pop solo release in that category. It has also reached No. 1 on the chart eight times, the highest number of top placements recorded by a K-pop solo album.

The parallel success of both the album and its lead single suggests a sustained listener base rather than fragmented attention. Analysts point to this as evidence of Jimin’s ability to maintain relevance across multiple release cycles.

Broader BTS activity continues amid debate

The achievement comes as BTS continues group activities with their latest full-length album ARIRANG. The project has drawn attention not only for its commercial performance but also for its artistic direction.

Bang Si-hyuk, chairman of HYBE, described the album as the start of ‘BTS 2.0,’ marking a new era for the group. Meanwhile, international outlets such as the BBC have highlighted ongoing debates about K-pop’s identity, particularly regarding the album’s increased use of English lyrics and its reinterpretation of traditional elements like ‘Arirang.’”

Despite mixed reactions in some quarters, performance indicators remain strong. Related content has generated millions of views shortly after release, and the group’s “BTS World Tour Arirang” has reported sold-out shows across major cities.

For industry watchers, Jimin’s latest chart milestone represents more than a numerical record. It reflects the continued expansion of K-pop’s global footprint through individual artistry, as well as the capacity for solo acts to sustain long-term engagement independent of group activities.

While chart positions fluctuate weekly, the 88-week run of “Who” is widely regarded as a defining example of enduring international appeal in the current K-pop landscape
